Top 10 Conventional Submarines Of All Time

Показать описание
A conventional submarine is a type of underwater vessel that is propelled by traditional sources of energy, primarily diesel and occasionally fuel cells. The primary constraint of traditional submarine operations lies in their limited submerged endurance. The endurance of the submarine is determined by the rate at which its batteries are depleted, which depends on factors such as its speed, propulsion, machinery, and tools, as well as the prevailing tactical circumstances in the area. The constraint of restricted space in surface areas greatly hinders traditional submarines, making them susceptible to detection, particularly due to their reduced speed, stealth, and camouflage capabilities.

1. U-Boot is not a single class, but simply the german term for submarine.
2. The list is weird, because you have mostly modern subs in it and then a few old WW1/2 mixed in between. You should either go for most advanced conventional submarines (you wouldn't find any old subs in there) or conventional submarines with the most kills (you wouldn't find any modern subs in there, because the most kills by subs were achieved in the World Wars of course).
3. Has a bit to do with point 2: If you include the Type 209, you should also include the Type 212, which is much more advanced. Also, if you include the I-400 class and WW1/2 class boats in general, the american Gato and Balao as well as some british WW2 boats should be in the list.

Japanese submarines are fascinating especially the ones fought in WW2.

You forgot to mention that more than 75% of the U-boat crews in WW II were killed in the line of duty. Forgetting the fact that you didn't mention what type of U-boat you were celebrating, the US Gato and Balao classes did more in less time with the notorious Mark 14 torpedo and the only recorded killing of a train by a submarine.
