TBF if we paid more in tax currently, it would just be more money the Tories could give to their donors in the shape of government contracts which they will never actually honour.

And if you are a high income, single, childless person you are essentially chattel to these parents to pay for their free/low cost daycare. Its not free, someone is paying for it and its usually those in society, society views as expendable.

UK reacts to Finland being 5th highest tax (%GDP) paying country. About 10% GDP higher than UK.

In US, it's probably waay cheaper.
