I was at his 30th birthday concert in Istanbul in may. People came from 70 countries to see him perform for nearly three hours. He is a beast on stage but humble, respectful, patriotic, loving, intellectual and very much the humanitarian. That’s also why we love him.

The first thing people notice about Dimash is usually his range but I fell in love with him because of (in addition to his ability to convey emotions) his versatility. You mentioned Power Rangers, Dimash sang The Power Rangers Theme Song for a Chinese OST, it's absoutely worth checking out.
If you want James Bons style you should check out "Battle of memories", or if fun Dimash sounds more tempting maybe check out his lates MV "Smoke".

This show ("I am Singer" aka "The Singer") is unlike any other American competition show. All of the other performers are already famous and well-established in China. Dimash was a "wild card" and, until then, the youngest performer ever on the show. No one had ever heard of him and he was not expected to last past the first episode. "SOS" was the first performance of the first episode for that season. None of the people in the back room are judges. The majority of them are Dimash's fellow competitors and the others with them are their "partners" who, among other things, introduce the performers before they perform. The "judges" are the 500 audience members. They do not give any critiques at the end of the performances but vote at the end of each episode based on several factors. Dimash was ranked #1 for this performance. The consistently lowest ranked performers are eliminated and they are replaced with other well-known singers so the contestants are constantly changing. Frankly, I enjoy watching the other competitors as well as the audience. The competitors are all very supportive of one another and they took a 22-year old music student from Kazakhstan (Qazaqstan) who didn't speak Chinese and barely knew a few words of English under their wing. They nicknamed him "imported little brother" and were very kind to him. He made some lifelong friendships with some of the other performers.

This competitiom was only for professional singers and the jury was in fact the people that are in the audience, they are all musical professionals too

Dimash is not about vocal range for me, it is about dynamics! He can change from a soft very breathy voice to an strong operatic voice in a second: control, control, control!
And Dimash is always surprising us. When he says he has a new song, it can be folk, romantic, jazzy, pop, operatic... It can be in English, Kazakh, Chinese, Russian, Armenian, Turkish, French, Italian... It is always like opening your Christmas gift! Pleasure and excitement!
