There's a lot of false information in this review. The MacBook does not start at $1099, it starts at $1299 and you can't "go higher" as there's no options for processors in this laptop.

This would have been so much better at $1099 (do people honestly think all these upgrades would be less than $1k when you got the old one for that amount?). The Macbook should really be starting below $1k at this point.

What do you mean, until the 2018 MacBook air, Space Gray was reserved to the high end? My 2017 MacBook 12, which is at the bottom of the barrel is SPACE GRAY.

Apple stuffs are pretty expensive... I really want to have new devices, but I guess I’ll just use my 3 year old phone, since its still in working condition.

All they had to do is add a Retina screen to the old MacBookAir and a force touch trackpad and maybe a USB-C port, and they would have had a RUNAWAY product. The old ports and magnetic charging plug, the original keys.... even the illuminated Apple logo. The small change in thickness was not worth loosing those killer features that made it a great product in the first place.

When comparing the price of the Air to the entry level Pro, we should remember that Apple still uses the previous generation keyboard in the entry level pro, the one that has been the subject of so much controversy. The Air keyboard is the "improved" version and we'll see in time how that turns out.

I got one last weekend. I have the 2015. Air. Does everything my 2015. does but the screen is amazing in comparison, and the smaller footprint is more convenient to use. I am a pretty basic user so didn’t notice any difference in performance. Whatever I do on my old Air the new one does. I also like the new keyboard over the old one. If you are ok with the old Air screen( I wasn’t) I wouldn’t jump to upgrade I don’t think you will be amazed.

The reason we love Mac? I never feel like I need to upgrade it after 3 mos! I just bought the new MacBook Air... love it! I still have my MacBook Pro.. it’s older...but it still works! Every pc I have had... feels so out of date after 6 mos..I always have to replace them faster! My apple seems to last forever! So in my mind, I may pay more... but I get more because I only need to replace it after 5-10 years!money saved!

I got an i5 Surface Book 2 for $999.99 and it has a detachable screen, for tablet mode, and has touch screen.

Apple's hardware offerings these days is hardly tempting to anyone looking to do anything serious especially at these price points. At least with the pro you can get dedicated graphics at rip off prices. The Dell xps 13 offers so much more for so much less. Don't like Windows 10? I am with you, We run Mint linux and shall I say, it's good. Still not convinced? Waste your money. But don't say nobody gave you better options.

Wow - it appears there is only 1 CPU option based on Apple's website. But you say it's upgradeable? Doubt it. The other thing is at the end of video you mention other options on the Microsoft aisle, but keep in mind people LOVE OS X - that's why we keep buying Mac computers
