Underconsumption core: RV edition! What's in my unaesthetic zero waste home

I haven't done one of these in a WHILE: what's in my ugly zero waste house! It's alright if your zero waste life doesn't fit the zero waste aesthetic. And it's okay if it DOES! The point is, you do you. Be yourself, use the items you want to use, and do zero waste living how it best suits you. Both places I currently work do the scrap paper thing. They’ll use envelopes or print outs we no longer need, cut them up into quarters and we have scratch paper probably into eternity 😂

Most ugly: old stained towels we regularly wash to reuse instead of using lots of paper towels.

For us, we have drying rack for all of our bras. it's a metal rack we've had since 2008. We do laundry twice a week, and we put the rack right in the living room in front of the heater next to the TV, so when the heat is on, it helps dry the items. May not seem like a big deal, but whenever someone walks by on the stairs that are right by our window, if they glance inside (which they always do, it's human nature), they get to see what color our bras are, LOL!

I use the Notes app on my phone for grocery list. Completely zero waste! Scrap paper gets used for the initial pattern idea planning

My ugliest (and highly prized) possession is a 50+ year old metal hanger with four bars and two clips on each bar. It was in my childhood home in Lake Tahoe, CA. I used to hang my wet mittens, scarves, hats etc on it. It is bent, the chrome is wearing thin, the hanging hook is loose . . . She isn’t pretty but she lives in my laundry room and I use her every time I do laundry. Great for hanging lingerie and delicates. And she makes me smile every time I think about how long she’s been part of my life. If she ever breaks, I’m going to patch her up and keep using her.

Ugliest things in my house have got to be these giant plastic cups I got at a baseball game 10 years ago. The outside has been all scratched up by the dishwasher etc, but theyre still good cups.
