Aimee Lou Wood Speaks Out After Being Mocked By 'SNL'

"Saturday Night Live" mocked the star of the hit television series "White Lotus," Aimee Lou Wood. In a skit that managed to spoof both White Lotus and the Trump family, "SNL" cast member Sarah Sherman impersonated Wood using a fake British accent and prosthetic teeth. The 31-year-old Wood, who has achieved fame for embracing her irregular smile, was not amused, calling the sketch "mean" and "unfunny." She says "SNL" reached out to her directly with an apology.

For those who don’t understand WHY Aimee Lou Wood was offended by the skit, she was the only one from the cast who wasn’t replaced by a politician, celebrity, or a member of Trump’s family. All the characters from The White Lotus were used to parody certain people in or connected to the current Trump Administration, but the skit just made fun of how Aimee looks and talks. I actually agree with her criticism, because I felt it was a missed opportunity to parody RFK Jr.’s real life wife Cheryl Hines in Aimee’s place. That would’ve been HILARIOUS! 😂

Honestly, I'm not sure why she's so upset. She knows her teeth get attention and she has been on several talk shows discussing them. She also knows that the vast majority finds her teeth endearing! She also knows that caricature is a huge part of satire! She's a very well respected and talented, beautiful young woman. She's bringing more attention to this than it deserves and that will hurt her in the long run.
