For those trying this method, be careful because the spring will become compressed and stuck sometimes, Fender makes a specialized spring they sell in a pack of around 20-30 for $5

Something else that helps but isn't a permanent solution is plumers tape (it's thin white tape) that can be wrapped around the threads on your trem bar and then screwed into your bridge
