Nebo can read my wife’s handwriting. I haven’t managed that after 35 years.

Aside: I've tested the same text in both apps. As of today, Apple Notes interprets my English handwriting to text more accurately than Nebo, but Nebo is far easier to use. (No click for a new line in Nebo!)

Gonna have to try both these apps, for my hand-written notes (especially when studying), as this is not a type of app I've given much thought to!

For some reason, however, whenever I hear the name Nebo, I think of Star Wars, lol.

I love Nebo more than any other app. I can write infinite pages in document mode on my Samsung Tab S9, which all get converted to text automatically, with the ability to add pictures, sketches, and diagrams. Then, you can just open the iPhone version of the app to review on the go. Later, if I want to make changes by typing in, I can do that on my Windows desktop. the only issue is that the syncing feature is not as good as OneNote, and sometimes duplicates my documents. But, for this level of freedom and cross-platform experience that works for me, I'm kind of willing to put up with it for the time being. I'd like to add that you can also annotate PDFs and draw on an unlimited canvas on a page type called board, however, the app's most important feature is the auto handwritten text recognition, IMO.

Edit: the other issue is that the app must be purchased separately. So you must really commit to it if you plan to use as cross-platform as I do.

You had the language recognition on German at the top I think :) that‘s why the word recommendations were a bit off… but great video nevertheless!

As a student learning Italian I decided this year to go 100% no paper. I decided to use GoodNotes but at the end of the year, I find the app not flexible enough. The basic thing of manually organise all my folders is not possible (only by date or name) and the drag-and-drop is archaic. I tried Nebo but you can’t even write in 2 columns (for vocabulary list, it’s a must). So I tried apple notes and maybe yes I should have sticked with it. And I am often confronted on GoodNotes to the scratch issue … when I write with my pencil boom suddenly it would write a scratch. Maybe that’s because of my Paperlike film I don’t know. I plan to buy a new tablet to write my thesis on. The thesis will be several hundred pages long, with photos etc. Handwriting it will be much quicker and more creative than trying to type it. Would an ipad with Nebo do the job? Any alternative suggestions of hardware and software would be most welcome!

You can export an apple note as an pdf. You just have to open the print dialogue an you the pinch gesture to get an pdf. You can use the „print to pdf“ in every app that support printing.

I wish apple notes had a tagging system, this is keeping me from diving in head first from Evernote. Also, I’m looking for an apple shortcut to create and voice memo and it save it to a new note in apple notes, any resources on this?

Tom…you are awesome. But…you’re killing me. Nebo is really, really interesting, and I have the free version for now. Which one? Notes or Nebo? I really don’t want to go back and forth with more than one app. I take notes from phone calls every day. And, I need to annotate PDFs. Please help. Thank you sir. Much appreciated.

Can you copy hand written notes from Apple notes into Nebo for conversion. Sounds crazy but the Apple notes conversion is poor. Also the lack of ability to copy into my CRM with Apple notes is a barrier. It’s useful to tap the screen for a quick note and then realise that this note is more important and needs storing in another place.

Hi! I have a shared folder in my iPad. I share it with my laptop. My workflow would be that I edit the PDF via Nebo, and Nebo saves the PDF and I can see the changes in the PDF via laptop's Dropbox, and I can see them in real time. The problem is that if Nebo doesn't edit an existing PDF and just work on a copy of it, I can't see the changes in my laptop through Dropbox. Alternatively, if Nebo edits a copy of the PDF, is it possible to change the directory where the PDF is being saves, to make it point to Dropbox's directory?

Nebo evidently no longer allows sending editable text to Evernote. It will export the text but it comes into Evernote as an attachment which is not editable once in Evernote. Any suggestions??

Meine Freundin hat sich ein Surface Pro 2 gekauft und nutzt aktuell die OneNote App. Es gibt auch noch die OneNote 2016 Desktop Version, aber die Benutzeroberfläche ist das nicht so gut.
OneNote ist eigl. ziemlich gut, das Problem ist, dass man die Arbeitsfläche nicht auf DinA4 formatieren kann und dadurch beim exportieren manche Sätze abgehackt sind, wenn man sich verschätzt hat und seine Notizen zu Breit macht. Wie ist das bei Nebo? Ich habe gesehen man hat auch "unendlich" viel Fläche, aber wird beim exportieren zu pdf ein DinA4 format verwendet oder ist das überhaupt möglich?
(Man kann die App auf Windows leider nicht vorher testen und muss sie direkt kaufen)

Notes allows you to organize notes in folders and subfolders etc but also shows a thumbnail and this helps you find notes visually as well as by text…and its free compared ro Evernote's which also does the same

You clearly have not updated Nebo to the latest version, as the app is not offering you to add checklists, besides H1, H2, text and bullets. That’s a new thing since 4 days ago. You can also scratch (delete) text in free-form sections and free-form pages.

Why does Nebo insert spaces or lines dividing the notes into separate text/note boxes? Is there a way to get rid of this? I like making notes with diagrams or creating arrows to connect different notes but I can’t do this with Nebo because of this feature. Thank you!

Hi Tom, I love your channel, but I’m confused. You have this excellent video, 4 weeks ago, yet you have a video a Month ago that states “Apple Notes is THE BEST note-taking app.” Which is it?

Can you use this on Windows? I would love to find something that syncs between Apple and Windows devices and does all that you showed here!
