When Magic Johnson won the MVP over Michael Jordan #shorts

Despite Michael Jordan's extraordinary scoring prowess and defensive prowess, it was Magic Johnson's all-around contributions and influence on the game that ultimately swayed the MVP voters. Johnson's ability to control the game from the point guard position, his versatility, and his knack for rising to the occasion in critical moments made him the standout candidate.

Don't let the modest facade fool you. He definitely took it personally.

Still the only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring, 100 blocks & 200 steals in the same season.... & he did it TWICE

Didnt realise MJ articulated himself so well at a young age. He definitely sounds older than he looked.

Mike’s intelligence is underrated. Very brilliant and wise brother. Never sounded cocky or immature.

Jordan's interview ability was severely underrated as an athlete.

This was for the 86-87 campaign, his 2nd full season with the Bulls! He missed 64 games the previous year due to a broken foot. I had to look it up, but I found out that in all his years playing for the Bulls, MJ always finished in the top 3 for MVP voting each full season that he played. He ended up winning 5 MVPs. The only full Bulls season he played where he didn't finish in the top 3 was his rookie year, and even then he finished 6th! Insane..

That's what I been telling people. Scoring 3, 041 points is absolutely bonkers, but doing that while also recording 237 steals and 125 blocks not even mentioning assists or rebounds, is extraordinary!

The greatest professional basketball player and sports icon I’ve ever seen. He is also someone that I enjoyed hearing speak because he seemed very circumspect and humble. You could also tell that he put some thought into what he was saying.

He was as valuable on defense as he was on offense. Just crazy good.

1st four seasons MJ was as raw, pure, and uncut as Miami in the 80's 😤🫡💪🏽

His interview skills were on par with his ability to play the game. He was meant for these moments.
