We have been waiting TOO LONG. Lets hope these live up to the features and performance.

I rarely get hyped about a new camera but I think Sony nailed this one. Anyone who needs a zoom lens with decent range knows there weren't many options around, you could either get Z280 or much more expensive Z450, Z750 which are in 40-50k price range. Z280 was stuck in a past, SxS cards, limited framerates, its 3 chip design made it hard to color match with anything else... I really hope what they claim is true and this camera will be possible to color match with popular big sensor cameras such as FX6. As these two would make a killer combo.

I really hope, Sony also would bring something similar like that in the body size of the Z90.

I thought I'd do an FX30 then I thought it would be better to get an FX6, then I liked the C400 and now this guy comes along and gives me more features than the FX30, features that made the FX6 a solid choice and comes in a third of the price of a fully spec'd C400 with 24-105 lens. I think this z200 is the winner!

Might want to use less than a 180 degree shutter at low framerates when using that tracking mode or it looks *awful* due to the motion-blur.

Thanks for explaining it so well for the few of us who have never seen what differentiates 'camcorders.

Thanks, this is very useful for me! I have a Sony Z90 - used it tonight to shoot a live event. I use SDI in the studio so that is a win. I love the XAVC-I and time code - feature the Z90 does not have that. But at $4000 this competes with the Sony FX3 which has everything I need except SDI, (which can use HDMI to SDI converter). Thanks for a good intro. Glad to see you are so happy about your camera!

Love to see you include the Panasonic HC-X2 since its probably the closest competitor

Finally! Now to see what Panasonic will come out with next. Hopefully PDAF in a 1” sensor camcorder.

I am a Sony user and I am in the market for a professional camcorder to cover atv/motocross racing and sporting events. I was just about to pull the trigger on the canon xf605 but since Sony is releasing this. I am in!! I think it will pair up nice with my fx30 and my A7iv.

Been waiting for a camcorder to come out with 4k 120 and I am excited that it’s Sony. I am heavily invested into Sony mirrorless and the autofocus is amazing. So knowing that will be in this camcorder and their variable ND I can’t wait for this to come out.

I would have like to see a couple of those outdoor shots in full auto mode. Sometimes during run-and-gun situations it’s the best option. Most interesting is that Sony truly modernized by paying attention to live-streaming. I hope it works in remote environments with where there’s no WiFi and the only option is an iPhone.

It's taken a long time for Sony to catch up to the Panasonic HC-X2000. I was hanging out for a 50/60FPS 4K camcorder from Sony for years but ended up buying the Panasonic because it was the only real choice. I'm seriously considering shifting back to Sony with this new camera.

I still have 4 x Sony X70s and 1 x Z90 for Greenscreen and Event work - still going strong but I think I might pick one of these up for events and documentary work. Great review as always.

Love a Sony camcorder for content production on You Tube, always used Sony models. This is tempting as a main camera for the channel.

The odd issue with H.265 not being available at 25fps and 30fps is still so strange to me.

It basically forces you to shoot in NTSC to get H.265 at 23.976fps and if you live in a PAL region, it can be annoying. Great video

Finally. I been putting off getting Z190s for years as felt like an update must be near. I need to check up on some specs but I now either need to come up with another excuse to not spend money or invest in a few of these. Thanks for the great video again.

Looks good! Not sure why they didn't include the variable ND filter on some of their recent cameras. But, one of the reasons I keep using my old FX5 is the I got so used to variable ND, a camera seems incomplete without today. Bet the night mode with 4K attracts a lot of UFO hunter types.
