This is how you play the Bm chord on guitar.

Tune your guitar
Tune your guitar to the standard tuning (EADGBe)
Index finger: barre the 2nd fret.
Use your index finger to barre the 2nd fret (don’t worry about the 6th string, we won’t need to play that one).
Middle finger: 3rd fret, 2nd string.
Place your middle finger on the 3rd fret of the 2nd string.
Ring finger: 4th fret, 4th string.
Place your ring finger on the 4th fret of the 4th string.
Pinky finger: 4th fret, 3rd string.
Place your pinky finger on the 4th fret of the 3rd string.
Play chord.
Strum all strings, except the 6th string.

I'm new to chords, and I misread the diagram when trying a new song and thought I was gonna bar the first fret. However, it didn't sound right to me, and I assumed that's because I didn't do it right, so I kept practicing it for many hours. Now I just found out that's I played it wrong, and after pushing my fingers to the limit trying to bar the first fret, the correct chord with barred second fret is actually really comfortable in comparison. Accidentally stumbled upon an effective learning method.
