5k is stable. People act like $60k per year isn't good. People survive in 2024 off $3k per month. $5k is really good. I wish I made that much. I make $2k per month and I'm surviving. The judge is absolutely right. He needs to hire a lawyer. He makes too much money to request a public defender. $5k a month is not poor by any means. That's above average. Average is $38k to $50k per year. $5k per month is $60k per year. It's his fault if he bought an expensive home and an expensive car and then use that as an excuse to say he can't afford a lawyer. I don't know why people act like $60k per year is nothing in 2024. That's actually really good unless you live by the beach or in upper class areas. But even then. That's good money. He can afford a lawyer. Some people just don't know how good they have it
