How To Fix A Clogged Spray Bottle-Easiest Method

In this video, I show you and tell you how to fix a clogged spray bottle. I go over the easiest methods that you can use to unclog it. If your spray bottle is not spraying at all or is spraying with a very low pressure, then I show you a few things that you can do to unclog it and get it to spray with the right amount of pressure again. All that you need is a bowl of warm water and a few minutes and you should be able to get it working properly again.

I am happy these methods worked for many of you. None of them at all worked for me. When I saw no progress I soaked them even longer in hot water for days and eventually added vinegar which others suggested too. I found all the methods to be an entire waste of time. Wishful thinking to try and I will just buy a brand new spray bottle.

Thanks. It worked. What a relief! A clogged plastic bottle of piano polish (more expensive than Chanel No.5) and it wouldn't work. Now I can go get a high gloss on my Steinway.

When your issue isnt the piston under the spray handle thing, i have a tip. Unscrew the spray adjuster tip at the tip where water sprays from. Use a toothpick AROUND the inner part, not in the actual tiny hole itself. If you do this to the point of almost loosening that inner part, you may find chunks of caked on debree come out. Now do the hot water soak while spraying, screw back on the adjuster tip, then put the whole sprayer back on the bottle. Try to adjust the sprayer to jet stream which is the semi tighter screw(losely screwed on is usually mist mode). More debree can leave via jet stream. I got mine back working doing this. Keep in mind, when that piston under the part you press to spray goes completely bad, your bottle is basically dead as it wont pump. Hope this helps somebody.

Hey, I am 74 and I’ve given to making my own do it yourself mixtures and cleaning products and pet products etc. I think that I have spent at least $50 in my lifetime before I saw this. I always buy a set of spray bottle from Amazon which don’t work after a couple months. I SO appreciate this!!

Good tip, but there is a lot more you can do with that particular bottle. You can remove the nozzle entirely, disassemble the trigger assembly, use compressed air on the tube side. Problem is, with this particular bottle what causes them to fail isn’t a clog. It’s wear on the soft plastic seal on the piston. you can extend the life by getting some silicone lubricant, or 303 protectant up in there, but once they lose suction they’re pretty much done for. it’s a shame, because that is a really great sprayer.

IT WORKED!!! Gosh, thank you so much! I was skeptical but figured it was worth the try before losing all the hair product I could no longer spray. Soaked it upside down in warm water for a couple minutes, and then turned it around and pumped the warm water through to clear out the tubing. It's working better than it ever did! Thanks so much!

this worked!!! can't believe it did and well i actually didn't expect it to work lol but yeah just soaked in the nozzles in hot water for a few minutes and the nicked at the openings a couple of times w a safety pin and voilà!! both of my spray bottles, which i was gonna discard are now working perfectly fine :D thank you sm for your tips 🤝🏼

Thanks! I didn't think it would work and my spray bottle had only been used once, practically brand new. I can't afford a new one, really! It worked, it worked!
Thank you. I had tried pumping water through, but it needed warmer water and I stuck a needle in the nozzle hole, plus I blew on it, then resubmitted the whole squirter in warm water and pumped, finally it started working again just fine!

Excellent video. The one thing worked for me not shown in the video is the little cap at the end of the straw that has holes in it as filter. It comes right off and the holes in mine were clogged due to the product I had in it.

Just rinse with hot water and the toothpick will clean it good.
