Book Review: Pachinko by Min Jin Lee (historical fiction)

In this sweeping historical family epic that stretches along three generations, a poor Korean family is able to have a child and then their daughter must move to Japan during turbulent times. As that daughter has children of her own, these children also face the many rough times of life, such as war, famine, disease, and racism. Min Jin Lee's second book is an ambitious triumph, exploring the doggedness of being strong-willed, as well the fine tuned love that passes from parent to child. Steve reviews Pachinko!
