I also remember watching the original in 1972. I think I may have recorded it by placing my newly acquired cassette player next to the TV. More than 50 years later, I still find this song and many of his others, extraordinary. Thanks for posting.

Lovely. I used to go and see Ralph in concert in The Fairfield Halls when I lived in Croydon.
Ralph was in the Junior Leaders Regiment for a while after leaving school and his mum bought him out. I lived next door to his mum Winifred May in Lodge Road in Croydon. I kept in touch with 'Freddie' for many years.

I remember seeing the original 'In Concert' on the BBC of this performance by Ralph. I'd not long before started playing guitar and after watching him, I decided to start playing fingerstyle guitar. Do you have any more songs from this concert? I remember him playing the 'Ballad of Dancing Doreen', 'Old Brown Dog' and his big hit 'Streets of London' as well as several other compositions. Thanks for posting this - it brings back some great memories.
