I don't think it's an arrestable offense just to fail at a hood slide, but if you actually caused damage to the car, even if it was minor, you're gonna have to swap insurance details. If, and only if you refuse to fix the damage or give them your insurance info, that's when it's okay for them to get the cops involved. Immediately waving down an officer just 'cause a guy beefed a hood slide without even talking to him to try to sort out the problem first, now that's big Karen energy right there.
