Finally someone took the job of explaining each step since the original one is without audio and is very boring when you want to show it to students. Thanks!

It's actually the frequency of oscillation along the axis that's measured across the pair of outer electrodes though, right? Not the rotation.

Hi! Thank you for this video. Your explanations are really clear. But still, I don not understand, in the MS2 mode, once the quadrupole has selected the ion of interest (precursor), where the other ions go? And after the analysis of the first set of ions in the Orbitrap, where do the next set of ions come from? Thank you for your priceless help

How does this tandem MS/MS result in having a high-resolution precursor mass ion if the precursor is being selected in the quadrupole instead of the orbitrap?

How to get 7-10 scans across the peak in MS/MS using QE-HF- X when you keep 30 ions?

Quick question: When an orbitrap mass spectrometer records a full MS1 spectrum, does the quadrupole do anything in terms of exclusion? I know that in SIM mode, the RF frequency is ramped to selectively let certain m/z pass and get to the detector, but an Orbitrap can basically record a full spectrum all at once, right?

Best explanation out there. Very scripted lol but very clear and thorough
