California leaders are set to extend the state’s eviction moratorium through Sept. 30.

Gov. Gavin Newsom and lawmakers have been in negotiations to extend the state's ban on evictions for unpaid rent, which was set to expire on June 30.

Wow, free rent in California. Wish I’d known so I would not have spent my life savings paying my rent for the last year and a half. Not fair. Make people get a job if they want rent assistance.

Love how I have to pay my mortgage, the utilities and all repairs. Nice that the renter who was never my renter (brother of the previous owner) doesn’t have to do anything. Seems like the government is just taking away my property to give to someone else.

Because California leaders are not landlords, is easy for them to risk what is not theirs. There is a lot of abuse by some tenants with this moratorium.
