When we dance together my world's in disguise
It's a fairyland tale that come true
And when you look at me with those stars in your eyes
I could waltz across Texas with you

Waltz across Texas with you in my arms
Waltz across Texas with you
Like a storybook ending I'm lost in your charms
And I could waltz across Texas with you

My heartaches and troubles are just up and gone
The moment that you come in view
And with your hand in mine dear
I could dance on and on

Waltz across Texas with you in my arms
Waltz across Texas with you
Like a storybook ending I'm lost in your charms
And I could waltz across Texas with you

My Mother used to walk around the house singing this song. A nice memory. Mom lived in Galveston for years.

My Dad played Ernest's tunes daily . I am a child of the 60's and not supposeed to like that " Country Western " music . Good music is good music . I loved him then and, of course, still do . Saw him play at the " Country Warehouse " in Rochester, N.Y. in 1978 or so . I should have asked my Dad to go with me . What a dummy. Earnest knocked me over . Such a small venue for such a gig talent . You could walk right up to the stage . Ah, the good old days .

This was my daddy's favorite song. Back in the old days, when cowboys in Texas were real. That was my dad. When decency and honor used to matter. That was my dad. I miss you old man!

This song reminds me of teaching my lil nephew how to 2 step in my sister's house on her hardwood floor. Never forget the sweet simple times. Going hiking, taking him for rides on horses, playing games, talking & cooking & watching The Iron Giant, Muppets from Space. They're all grown now❤🎉

There's nothing more pure than an Ernest Tubb song.

Some years ago, I worked on a construction crew whose boss was a big fan of this song. When this song came up on our oldies radio, work stopped. No work was done, and no word was spoken, until we finished listening to Waltz Across Texas.

I lost my brother to cancer in 2008. This was his favourite song. Never let the old classics fade into history - Its up to us to keep them alive.

When I was young and stupid, and didn't know any better, my dad would always lament about how the music I was listening to wasn't as good as the old time country and western music and singers such as Ernest Tubb and I would always look at him as if he was crazy.  As I have gotten more older and wiser and began discovering this kind of music, I now know why dad loved this music.  It's so pure and simple.  You can understand all the words and can listen to it all day without ever wanting to listen to something else.  You're right as always, dad.  I love you and even though you've gone for almost 37 years now, I still miss you.
