The "supply issue" is clearly artificial by design so the new product isn't competing with old. The 5080's price to performance will look less trashy that way compared to the 4080 super when the latter costs more due to drying up supply than it cost at any point all year.

I refuse to believe the 5080 specs. It simply makes no sense, at ALL! 400W power draw with 2/3 the cores of a 4090? Half the cores of a 5090 for how much? If the 5090 is $1899 the 5080 has to be $699 or no one will buy it. There is just no way those specs are correct.

Anyone who buys invidia products is a sucker. They make the 5090 the card everyone wants, but price it out of reach. Then people go for the lower cards out of desperation, but they are shorted out on the memory and also over priced. Go ahead an buy a 5080/5070 if you like running close to max settings for a year and a half, then have to upgrade again because you don't have enough vram. And the cycle continues as they slowly push the price with every generation, treating their customers like frogs in the pot of water.

Why bother with the 5080 if they are releasing a 5070ti with almost the same specs?
I think it's only gonna be a 10% difference in gaming performance between these two. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is what I think.
