Remix Contest for Winter Kills - Forward Facing

In June 2011, producer Josh Gabriel and singer Meredith Call unleashed the first album of their Winter Kills project. A treasury of down- and up-tempo jewels, crossing borders of deep progressive, imaginative pop, retro groove and all else needed to create magic. 'Winter Kills' also features the beautiful 'Forward Facing', a driven prog tune with the stunning vocals of Meredith. Now that the single is about to be release, Josh gives upcoming producers the chance to show off their remix skills and invites you for the official 'Forward Facing' remix contest!

Josh is giving you carte blanche with this remix. Whether you'll turn it into a dubstep, chill-out, deep-house or trance tune, it's welcome!

If your remix makes it as the ultimate favourite of Josh Gabriel and Winter Kills, you will have the remix released on Armada Music's Different Pieces! So if you think you've got the creative mind we're looking for and you know your way around in the studio, then hurry up and start working on the remix!

The remix contest ends September 28th, so keep an eye on the deadline and don't be late!

Downloadable MP3 320KBPS only, with the email address of the remixer in the .MP3 name tag!

If your track is not downloadable and/or not in 320KBPS and/or without contact details in the .MP3 name tag, submissions will not be handled!

I'm well aware of the price, and I'll re-state my point: It's not the price that's bugging me. It's the fact that you have to pay in the first place. The "principle, " as one would put it.

And yes, it does cost the company money to host a contest, but it also shows a commitment to showcase some raw talent, which is what contests are all about. It's a good opportunity to give a true show of quality over quantity.

It's not the price that's disturbing. It's the fact that one has to pay in the first place that makes Armada's remix contests uninviting.

You wouldn't invite someone to your house, offer them some food or a drink, and then make them pay for it. Remix contests should be the same way.

For me it's obvious, if you aren't willing to pay one or two bucks you're not motivated enough to take part in the contest. If you really "feel" the vocal and get creative ideas when you hear it 2$ is a fair amount of money. And the exposure you'll get if you win would definately be worth the money to give it a shot anyway...

the problem with charging people to enter a remix competition for armada, is that the only ones who will enter will be trance fans. if its free then it can attract people who aren't necessarily trance fans.

Dear Armada Friends, when can we expect the result to be released and via what channel? Thanks so much. Cheers.

Big fan here of Armada Music and spent a lot of money buying its music, but PAYING FOR REMIX PARTS is the end of the line. Hey Armada, this is a joke right?

So there aren't going to be a ton of shit remixes for that people that -have- paid? There are more than enough people who are paid to make music that probably don't deserve to be called producers.

it's 1.99 plus, they need to make money somehow, especially due to the cost of hosting a remix contest with prizes that actually cost the company quite a bit of money. If anything, the complaining by people like you is disturbing. At least we won't see you enter into this contest. Bye bye.

Well there are gonna be a lot of absolute shit remixes they'd have to wade through if they didn't make people pay for it.
