The problem is, because games are so expensive now, a lot of people can only justify paying for 1 a month. Of course they will spend their 1 a month on a tried and true IP. No one wants to waste their money on a risk.

Enix straight up always stay waffling... If a game is well developed with good content and execution that tailores to the masses it will thrive no matter if its a small dev or a big dev. There is also a massive middle ground between games that are an absolute smash and those that are flops. This was just a lead into enix waffling about how they feel play to win bs and lootboxes are justified things to advertise to easily impressionable kids and young adults.
