Why didn't it go through the legislative process and congress to begin with?? The administration knew it was unconstitutional to do it this way but decided to try it anyway. At least it attracted a lot of votes so it wasn't a total loss.

Things have gotten out of control with student debt. Over a trillion dollars. Folks need to go back to the drawing board and design an educational system that doesn't burden students (and sometimes their parents and grandparents) with a lifetime of debt. There are other countries that don't have this problem. Maybe model after them.

Here's an idea: how about we tackle the underlying problem by fixing the education system to make it affordable instead of putting a patch on it with this loan forgiveness BS. You know the price of education will just increase even faster given that now the government will pay it off.

good, its theft... you signed up for the debt to get a degree which likely means you will have a higher than average income, so why should debt free plumber Bob making 40k a year pay for your degree that got you a career where you could be making 125k a year? that makes no sense... it makes no sense either just because you got a worthless degree. if i take on debt and blow it on something stupid i dont get my bad mistake fixed by daddy government by stealing it from someone who didnt make a bad financial mistake.

That judge was waiting until people vote on Tuesday to announce the blocking and not hurt the decision in order to not hurt Republican's chances.
