I've been in tech for 5 1/2 years now without any degree and I was a felon at the time. It's possible, just stay consistent and build some projects while you're learning.

Love your videos & advice. Also love when I see other BW in this space. I’ve been in Gov tech for about 2yrs and doubled my salary in the process.

However I will disagree that it’s layoff proof. There are plenty of folks (Top performers included) that are being laid off currently.
