Martin Taylor wrote this song in memory of his deceased son, which took his own life at 21 (you can google this). This is Tommy's tribute. I struggle with anxiety and depression, and a sense of cold emptiness sometimes overwhelms me. I come back to Tommy for my cure. How wonderful it is that such a tragic and sad event gave birth to the utmost tender and magical of songs. The mystery of life is great indeed. I send you my best wishes, my fellow human being, and don't forget, keep listening to music for the soul.
