I love that mainstream academia tried to sell the ides that these kinds of impacts just don't happen anymore, as if the universe stopped producing asteroids just for us.

Does anyone else find it a bit nefarious that every ancient culture was highly tuned in to the stars and the cosmos, where there was seemingly wisdom to be found. Yet today, in most places, there's so much light pollution in the sky, that even on the clearest night, you can only see a few of the brightest stars, if any?

The fact that that thing exists, should tell us all, that these people were very advanced and knew that everything in their civilization could be wiped off the face of the earth, except for items made from certain materials or stored in 'special locations'. They left it, knowing that they may be wiped out eventually. These things are everywhere. They knew it was coming and knew civilization would eventually be able regrow and to eventually gather and interpret their messages. Don't think for a moment that we won't face the same threats they did.

…and it took a computer to unravel the meaning of a map created over 5k years ago. I’d like to know how the person knew an asteroid was headed to earth. Amazing! It’s scary to think about another asteroid strike which will undoubtedly happen again. It’s just a matter of time. Instead of developing weapons of war, the industrialized countries ought to gather their brightest scientists to figure out a defense for the planet instead of annihilating one another and/or destroying the planet in war.

Buildings were more beautiful then than nowadays and were lucky if our buildings last 150 years never mind 5, 000 years ago. Were all these people killed off ? By an asteroid or floods. They just disappeared as their building skills have not been passed down

What do you think the meaning of the basket they are holding in their hands is?

Program I watched where they studied tree rings noticing they were so close together meaning something major happened at that time, connecting to other events at that time?

Can't wait for a Quantumn model to unfold that map and reveal all the 'rich text' stored within!

It's insane how intelligent the sumerians were, also already knowing it was just a stone ball from space v.s (insert theory)

It would be interesting to know what year or date they actually recorded the date as back then. It's doesn't help our governments chose to start time over to confuse everyone 2000yrs ago

Do I see trigonometric calculations on that? Hipparchus of Nicea was supposed to be the discoverer of trigonometry but I think it is so essential for society that we have been using it far longer than we think

The question though, where was the impact in the alps? Something of that size and mass would have left a noticeable crater. I'm not trying to disprove, I am simply asking where because I would like to see the crater.
