"What happens when you create a short circuit? Let's try it..."

My kind of guy.

So I have those battery holder terminal things and they are literally a finger burning hazard

you need to take the 2/3 AA batteries out of there but they are so tight you use a screwdriver to get them out, so I get the batteries out and I touch the battery,
Instant finger burn because shoving a screwdriver shorts it out, idk so It is burning hot and you are 2 steps away from a portable fireplace, but you need to get those batteries out,
Finally you get them out to be in a mini panic attack because the batteries almost smoked on you and tossing them out the window,

Goddamn do I hate those battery terminals

I just did this by accident (negligence) I could smell burning and freaked out. Then I thought it was the heater....soon I realised the batteries were heating up. Lucky it didn't blow up on me. My remote is still broken though

so the extra wire of least resistance, was it a thicker wire?

hello
have a home project that is causing battery to get hot 9volt and project gives no sound.
so i believe i have a short in my circuitry.
read where one can spray cold air on system to see which components might be getting hot and melting ices that true.?
thanks

2:52 I tried that and nothing heats up. I can’t figure out why. Batteries are brand new and I tested them on a light and they work. The metal wires work too because I lit the light using the metal wires. But when I short circuit them, nothing gets hot and nothing happens. Why do you think this is? I’ve left them up to 5 minutes and and they are still at room temperature. Science making an exception for me?

MYTH: “Electricity takes the easiest path”
TRUTH: “Electricity takes ALL paths”

What he means is that the most current takes the path of least resistance, but there certainly is current flowing through other paths.

In the case of 3V supply that current is negligible. At high voltage that current can get you killed.

Why battery short when we touch nagative terminal to postive terminal directly
