Hey Shaun, if you are reading this please consider making a premium course on udemy or on your site of data structure and algorithm in javascript with interview preparation in mind. I am truly indebted to you bro, can't tell how much I have learned from you.
And you are different like really, I have been through many tutorials on asynchronous programming and they all use setTimeout to mimic server request and on the other hand, you are using the actual ajax request to explain the stuff.
