On a Windows 10/8/7 or Vista based computer, the following error appears when trying to delete a folder or file: "Access Denied – You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from SYSTEM or Administrators to make changes."

The "folder access denied – you need permission to perform this action" issue occurs because the folder or the file that you want to delete is locked by a process or a system service or because the file/folder is essential for Windows' operation.

You do not have permission to access \\Server\c. Contact your network administrator to request access.

If anyone still having trouble copying over the files, make sure to find the checkbox to allow "child directories" to apply to your permission rules for Everyone.

It astounds me that WIN 10 is so overreaching, more than any other version I've seen with file permissions, even for admin.

Still got the problem - message is now "do you want to copy this folder without encryption? A problem is preventing this folder from being encrypted" and then it takes me back to 'you need administrator permission". Any advice? Thanks.

After clicking apply, did you click 'NO' then 'Ok', because the 'apply' still appears and if I click 'Yes' it runs programs. What do you click exactly?

The add button shown at 1:35 is grey, and I can't click on it... I can view what permissions are available but I can't add anything. I'm trying to add a file to a thumb drive and it says you'll need to provide administrator permission to copy this file.
