I'm a senior. They lowered my EBT food allowance in Feb. 2024 to $233.00 a month & that was $28.00 less, then they lowered it again to $93.00 a month allowance starting June 2024. My rent went up in May 2024 because social security was 3.2% increase in Jan. 2024. So I didn't get a real benefit because my rent took it. I just got a used car in March because I had no way to get anywhere & the car place let me put bare bones for a deposit & finance the bal.for 66mos. I am disabled from a spine injury from 2012, which changed my world. The DHSS phone # is 99% can't get anyone to p/u or to leave a message, & then no one calls back when you can get to L/M. THEN THE GOVT IS FLOODING THE COUNTRY WITH AN INVASION OF PEOPLE THE GOVT OPENED ALL ENTRIES & IS SUPPORTING THEM.
NOT FAIR.
There are agencies handing out free food, & it is what you couldn't sell, tastes awful. Who are the master planners? Fire them!

A store clerk snapped a photo of a Venezuelan migrants receipt for EBT dates 7/31/24 and it had a $13, 000 Food stamp balance and $4498 cash balance. They really happily helping the new citizens..

On social security.
I get $24 a month E.B.T. And I live on social security. Why should I pay taxes to government when they give it all way to other countries and Illegal immigrant, And they don't take care of us!!! And we the people pay the bills. Government of the people for the people! Stand up. If they won't let us vote them out. ??? At this point it is up to them.

My brother is a senior citizen lives in Tennessee. He told me that they are cutting his EBT benefits due to the influx of illegals to his state.

I was hurt on my job. I hurt my back and had to have back surgery. I had two children to take care of. The L&I check only paid rent. I had to get help to feed my family. It is other people who make you feel bad on top of being hurt physically :(

I work as a cashier, at a mom and pop grocery store in Michigan and EBT was working fine all day on the 1st here.

There were several regional outages some years ago. If I remember correctly, one outage was in the Northeast, another in Louisiana, and I think there was another one or two. I don't remember their locations. If it wasn't intentional to gauge the people's reaction, it still showed what can happen. In each case, people took to the streets and rioted. So, for your safety, if you're in a store and start hearing talk of the EBT or SNAP systems being down, leave your items, leave the store immediately and get out of the area. You can always return if nothing happens.

With the prices of food on the increase my ebt use to get me through the whole month thank God I've been preparing because the last 2 years I ve been eating out of my preps because the card only last 10 to 14 days now

Some of these corner stores are taking full advantage of price gouging I went to one place and they were charging $7 for a gallon of milk but that's not the normal price in my area right now
