Watch How to Demagnetize the Strongest Magnet in the World #shorts

preview_player
Показать описание
Neodymium magnets are so incredibly strong that when two of them are brought close to each other, they can quickly snap together, appearing as if they've fused. Their magnetic force is so intense that they're capable of crushing anything caught between them. And attempting to separate two neodymium magnets that have safely stuck together by hand, can be nearly impossible due to their powerful attraction. Yet despite their strength, if it comes in contact with fire, it loses its magnetic power and acts like normal metal.

Guy at work learned the hard way. Two magnets, one in each pocket.

No way, the same thing that happens to all other magnts when exposed to heat!!
But he did not explain why so i will. The particles in magnets are sligned in such a way that it creates a magnetic field, but when heated, these particles get a chance to wriggle free and disalign, therefore removing the magnetism

Anything that comes in contact with fire will definitely lose its magnetic attraction

If you put a prince ruperts drop inbetween two of these, you can recreate a somewhat realistic simulation of "When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object".

Finally something that can hold my drill bits in place

It's called the Curie temperature or Curie point. The electrons get hot enough to decouple and the magnetic field is randomized.

These are installed to activate the interior lights of the Ram center console. They are strong as hell for the size they are

Excluding electromagnets, all magnets lose their magnetic properties once exposed to high temperatures.

Every magnet loses its ability if you heat it up or drop it too often.
A magnet is determined by its ordered poles all facing into the same direction.
If you heat it up you make the molecules fastes causing more chaos. Same if you drop it a lot.
And more chaos = less order = less poles facing the same direction, meaning they now cancel each other out .

All magnets are weak against fire.
Does this guy sleeps during science class?
