You can use the bottom compartment to hold a damp or sandy towel and swimsuit if taking it to the beach or similarly to separate dirty and clean stuff.

I use mine for weekends away. Put the Cube on the side when you get to the end destination and you have your backpack back for day trips. It is also great for putting a ceiling on how much you take. Easily enough space for a few Ts, a shirt and three sets of underwear and socks.

when i travel i like to bring along a pair of sandals from Bedrock and the lower zippered area is perfect for them. I wear the 10/11 and know smaller sizes fit.
