I want to extend my congratulations on this stunning pair of headphones! I have been fortunate enough to possess various ANC headphones, such as AirPods Max, Sony XM5s, Bose QCU, Bowers & Wilkins Px8, Beoplay H95, and numerous others. But the sound and comfort of my new DALI IO-12 are unparalleled. Been with them for a month has brought me great happiness. DALI, thank you for putting together this masterpiece.

I have the Dali IO12 as well as Focal Bathys and Mark Levinson 5909 and the IO12 are the best bar none….their audio quality is fantastic but it’s their instrument and vocal separation that makes them stand out above the other two. The ANC is not the best in class but is is good and i prefer them to promote audio above ANC anyday….to be fair, the ANC on Bathys and 5909 are not great either so those headphones promote audio above ANC too but Dali do it so much better…get yourself a pair, they are stunning ❤️

Подскажите, какие основные отличия от модели io-8? Сильно ли io-8 уступает io-12 по качеству звука?

It's the best Bluetooth headphone on the market by far. It sounds better then my Old Headphone + DAP combination for 1500 euro. And the bass option makes this one even suitable for Slipknot! But maybe considering an App for the future could be worthwhile. The Focal bathys has the Mimi Hearing optimization, and that worked well and increased the quality of the bathys. The only thing in really I have proclaim, is that the IO 12 didn't got a Snapdragon Soundchip with APTX lossless. And the Bathys worked more stable in the connection when I was listening to music and using some other apps on the smartphone. Bathys had way less interruptions than. But still best headphone. I'm not interested in other headphones anymore for the moment until there will be new model. Seperation is stunning. When i listen to an orchestra on hifi mode i really can the instrumentplacemts in front of me.

Maybe a weird question, but where can i get that headphone stand to pair up with the io-12? 😅

Do io 12 and io 8 have same 50 mm drivers and on turn same sound quality?

To start with, I agree the IO-12 is perhaps the best ANC wireless headphone to date. But based on my experiments it could be much better by just a little more fine-tuning. The idea of Hifi and Bass mode, ANC on/off are ergonomically good and the concept works without the app - but the execution is not optimal IMHO. To correct that, one would need the app, or a tool to generate custom firmware based on personalized options, such as the EQ settings for Bass mode, EQ settings for Hifi mode and custom options wrt the transparency mode (which drives e.g. the Teams SW crazy, resulting in ear-damaging levels of volume auto-adjustments). By the default settings, there is too much bass already in Hifi mode (both with ANC on and off), which usually is caused by not optimal ear pads (ear side acoustic environment), i.e. not aligned with other parameters (DSP, drivers, acoustic environment etc). I measured, tweaked, measured and ended up using less foam in the ear pads (about 30% less height), which made the sound much more balanced (less boom, better deep bass, more relaxed and more clear mids) -- but for the general public it would be easier and better to solve this this with personalizable parametric EQ attached to the sound modes. In the default Bass mode, the bass is so overwhelming and muddy, it's basically useless. Its function should be to compensate for the deep bass loss outdoors and in planes, but instead it just adds even more boom in the 60-80 Hz region. If you like it this way, fine - but please give customers an option to personalize the EQ for the sound modes. To Dali's defense, all other ANC headphones are even more broken by bass design - but the IO-12 is just too close to be good: at least please try using less foam mass in the ear pads, and come back with your findings. :) BTW the ear pads are a work of art, but unnecessarily complex IMHO: a generic adapter to usual ear pads would be more useful, and would also allow personalization with thicker or thinner ear pads, depending on one's head geometry and preferences.

An app would have been nice, but is it possible to use third-party EQ apps with the headphones.

It lags a lot after 2-3 weeks. I exchange them. But the problem keeps coming

While iO-12 are great, there's some areas that received less of attention. Namely, the headphones cannot be used for watching movies/sports as the aptX Adaptive Low Latency mode is poorly implemented, giving quite noticeable cracks and pops several times a minute. I really hope that's fixable by a firmware update we may see later this year 🙏
