Gary Neville deserves extreme amount of credit for how he handled himself in a difficult interview. This is almost a therapy session and Gary comes across as a fantastic therapist. Full praise to dele as well unbelievably brave.

It doesn't matter if he ever finds his way again on a football pitch. I hope Dele finds his way in life and gets as close to peace and serenity as he can. Excellent interview.

It makes me so angry that the tabloids have forced him into this. He left rehab a few weeks ago, he says he's in a good place but he obviously has a lot of processing to do. Very brave decision but awful that it comes to this. You're not alone Dele.

In terms of impact, this is huge.

Two men having an honest conversation about addiction, trauma, recovery, change and growth is necessary for society.

Props to Dele and Gary

As a victim of sexual abuse myself at the age of 10, the hardest part was telling someone and hoping that you won't be judged or ridiculed and that it was not your fault...you're a brave man and an inspiration to many, thank you.

Gary, you've created a platform where someone like Dele feels comfortable opening up about these major, often overlooked issues. That in itself deserves praise, so well done

I won't lie, I never liked Dele Alli and a lot of that comes down to bitterness as an Arsenal fan I'll admit. So naturally I bought into the narratives of him being lazy, not working hard, having poor work ethic and was loving his fall from grace. This interview though really turned me around. Brought me back to remember you never really know what goes on behind the scenes. I wish nothing but the best for this guy and hope he finds himself again. Incredible strength to endure what he's been through.

Hats off to Gary Neville being proactive and wanting to speak to this young lad. He's clearly struggling mentally and needs as many people to talk to as possible to help him through whatever he's going through. I genuinely hope we see a resurgent Dele Ali. For above all else, himself....I hope this is a turning point for him.

I was the same age as Dele when I was abused in that way. when he choked up, I felt that. I still do it myself when I try to verbalise what happened to me. He got the words out, I still can’t. Not yet. Massive respect to him.

He's literally saving lives by doing this. Inspirational. Survivor. We have NO IDEA what people are going through inside.

The fact that he has achieved what he has with the childhood he had. It’s amazing

On behalf of a die hard gunner here, really wish all the best for him, nobody deserves that sort of start in life. The fact he's even managed to make it into professional football given all that in his early days is remarkable in of itself. Good on him for that and good on him for having the nuts to put his story out there to help other people who've experienced the same.

As a survivor of child sexual abuse myself, I just want to say thank you Gary for giving Dele the platform to not only let him speak his truth but by giving the space for this topic to be put out there. Thank you for that.

And to Dele also. Thank you for sharing, it’s never easy to speak on such things, so again, thank you. ❤️

This may be one of the best/most honest interviews I’ve ever seen from a footballer. Huge respect to you Dele, I hope you get what’s coming.
