This Spacecraft Just Touched The Sun! Why Didn't It Melt?

NASA's Parker Space Probe has become the first spacecraft to officially touch the Sun. Parker was launched in 2018 to study the solar corona, the outermost region of the solar atmosphere, which is mysteriously hotter than the surface of the Sun.

The Parker Space Probe has made some remarkable observations in this historic venture. But the question is, why didn't it melt? This video discusses what keeps the solar probe from melting and what Parker observed while diving through the solar corona.

As a student from the University of Texas said. “ Oh that’s easy they went at night!”

Heat and temperature are two very different things. The probe itself would not experience much heat transfer due to many different factors. You can actually test out a few of those factors using aluminum foil you use for cooking. Place a sheet in the oven and and you can easily handle it directly. Now if you crumple it into a ball and try it again well, it’s going to be a painful experience. Same material same amount same conditions but two very different results. While you may not understand why, it is similar to why you can put the probe into an area that has a temperature of 1 million degrees.

Now if you went deeper into the Sun where density rises then you would get heat transfer that the probe simply wouldn’t be able to handle even though the temperatures would be significantly less than the corona.

They missed an opportunity to call the probe "Icarus"

Congratulations! You have a winning formula for creating these videos! Don't change a thing. If it's not broken don't fix it.
The combination of college level, and post college level, script for us to read, the wonderful music that accompanies the script, and the tempo with which the video is fed to us, are all extraordinary. In this fashion we learn more about our universe everytime we watch one of your gifts to us. It is a fascinating way to learn, mesmerizing, thank you!
Wishing you and yours a healthy and prosperous New Year. Peace.

Writing this on the toilet:

Carbon meltingpoint 3550°C
Carbon foam meltingpoint 3700°C
Cooled by water?
Water boiles much faster in space, so... much lower then 100°C
The corona is over a million degrees celcius....

Huge one coming, have to focus, have a great day!

Well the big question for me is how did it fight all the Sun’s gravity?

About corona being hot
Isnt the same reason why our thermosphere is so hot? the pressure counts a lot in the "temperature" of the gas, without other particles to collide, particles can go faster and faster, giving the impression of high temperatures like the thousands of degrees in the thermosphere, even tho proportionally it has similar temperature of the lowest layers
The corona, compared to the Chromosphere is several magnetudes less dense, hence the energetic particles

How is the electronics aboard the Parker Solar Probe shielded from the effects of solar wind? As it is literally swimming in a bath of solar wind.
I understand heat shield can protect it, but what about other directions? Those solar wind particles can destroy the satellite electronics right?

Universe is so mysterious, so is Earth.

I still amazed by how people feel that they are very important.
In fact we are nothing in comparison.. ❣️❣️

We don't have tecnology to go deeper inside the Earth because its intense heat. But we have tecnology to go to the Sun suporting its winds and super intense heat?
