Answer is YES. DRz's peg the "fun-o-meter" harder than more complicated bikes at a better price than most of the market.

I think it's a blast. It puts a smile on my face compared to many smaller CC dual sports. Most of my riding may be equally, or perhaps better, suited with something like a CRF300L or especially the Rally to help take the edge off of some longer highway miles to the trail head, and the better fuel mileage would certianly be appreciated. There are other places I ride where the DRZ400S gives me the suspension and clearence I need to get through a tough section like deep narrow rutted out single track or some rough terrain.

DRZ is a great platform, the 400 is perfect for a starter bike. Aftermarket parts are somewhat inexpensive and widely available. I’ve been riding since the 70s and have had several DRZs. However, my current favorite is my XR 400 set up for dual sport. But at almost 60 the kick start only kinda sucks some days.

Drz is the 308 of the motorcycle world. Jack of all trades master of none better then being a master of one

I wanted a klx300, but ik buying used and most of them are like double the price of a drz, also thinking about a wr250 but theyre also a little more than the drz's

How do you feel about the supermoto one? I wanted to get into the SM scene but the others are god spankingly expensive. I initially wanted the drz as an off road dedicated bike, but I thought of just getting an enduro or a mx bike for that, or maybe the ibex 450 when it comes out.
