Approx time 2.5 minutes
It is given that
Dy/dx -4 =(4x+y+1)^2
Let, 4x+y+1=t
Then differentiate it w.r.t x
4+dy/dx=dt/dx
dy/dx=(dt/dx)-4
Now putting the value of dy/dx in eqn. (i)
Dt/dx -4=t^2
dt/dx=4+t^2
Variable separation:
dt/4+t^2=dx
dt/(2)^2+t^2=dx
Now integrating b/s
✓dt/(2)^2+t^2=✓dx+c
By using formula i.e., ✓1/(a)^2+x^2=1/2tan`x/2
Therefore,
1/2tan`t/2=x+c
Substitute the value of t
Therefore,
1/2tan`4x+y+1/2=x+c
Since tan`=1/tan
Therefore,
1/2*1/tan*4x+y+1/2=x+c
4x+y+1/2tan2=(x+c)
Cross multiplication,
4x+y+1=2tan2(x+c)
Hence answer is option C

Option (C) is the correct answer. It was easy level question. But please share the answers of the hw questions in the follwing lecture if it is tricky or difficult. It may be a very small step but it saves a lot of time for students and makes the solving more convenient.
