Before you pull the whole door panel off , There’s a few things you can try. You can buy non-conductive contact cleaner. There are times I’ve sprayed this in and the switch starts working just fine. Other times the switch is too far gone you can feel everything move, the switch itself is totally worn out. When this happens about the only way you can fix it is a new switch. Often times you may be surprised at that the switch it’s not as expensive as you may have thought but there is the process of pulling the door apart and replacing the broken part

IT'S CALLED 'CONTACT SPRAY' FOR A spray it on contacts. Not door panels.

The switches should have been removed and the connectors disconnected to ensure a more thorough cleaning and eliminate the chance of shorting out the circuit board. If the ignition switch time delay relay was still supplying post-switch-off power to the switches the spray would short out the board. Spraying the surrounding trim plastic and fabric could have marred and or bleached it.

Great video live free. It pouring outside and my window won’t go up. I’m going to spray that contact spray under those buttons, cross my fingers and say a prayer that I hit the correct contact before it evaporates. Guess I should get two cans for my two hands. Double blast it. Under the right conditions it will work when you’re in a spot. If it doesn’t work I may take it to an IT guy, or a blacksmith, or a hot air balloonist. It’s amazing how much time people put into bashing other people. Some comments are just not necessary. You did good

You got a new switch, anyway you gonna dismount the old one out and replace with the new one. But why are you spraying through the plastic instead of dismounting old one and spray it with contact cleaner properly for the best result. omg as and IT technician it was hard to stand it. Sorry for my reaction but it is.

You could also try using compressed air to blow the cleaner further into the switch mechanism and possibly blow out some crud.

After fuses and relay, the only thing left was the master switch. Electrical cleaner on terminals and lots of dust on buttons. Works perfect.

The contacts are under a membrane. Open the module and only wipe the pcb side.

Had a problem like this but I didn't half-ass it. I removed the switch, took it apart and cleaned the shit out of the contacts. Reinstalled and everything worked properly and responsive. You wasted time and money from buying one off ebay...

Spraying that way is not good... you should only spray the contacts. The cause could also have been dry joints. After spraying the contacts you should workout them several times with no supply present, that is with the ignition off. At 10 dollars I would have just replaced them anyway as they're quite cheap. I don't know what CRC exactly is but it has to be a contact cleaner not just stated as electronic cleaner. If it evaporates quickly it's no good. You should use contact cleaner... I usually use Kontakt-60.
