Getting THIS technique down is driving me nuts but I'm going to experiment all day until I get it!

This is enormously helpful, thank you. As a beginner it's hard to know just how to get the wet on wet to work for you. This makes it easier to work it out and then understand it when its happening on your paper. Thank you.

This is a fabulous exercise. With the AC blasting in the Texas heat and the Texas heat the drying times sometime mess me up. Thank you for this. Love that Calla Lily! One of my favourites!

Probably one of the most useful videos for controlling water. I live in Colorado and I have found it very difficult to control my water. It just dries out so quick. Can't wait to try the Ox gall. Thank you!

This may be the most useful video on watercolor technique that I have ever seen. So many artists talk about water control in tutorials, but they seem to focus almost entirely on getting the correct consistency of water and pigment on the brush, then applying it to dry paper. This shows exactly how to take advantage of damp paper, how to test the effects, and how time and gravity influence it. Learning this skill will also give me the knowledge to add to and work with painted areas as they dry. Thank you!

Oh my gosh! This is a wonderful tutorial. Water control has slowed my understanding of watercolor. Plus, I am slow; so I will be getting the QOR water medium!

That is a very helpful idea. I will time the drying and apply paint each minute to note the changes.

I've notice on rainy days and at night, temp the same, the changes are a bit different too, but very interesting with the time and flow of paint!

I tried this with both my Komorebi and Paul Rubens' sets on Canson xl and the arches cold press 140 and I came to the conclusion that it has to be the paint quality that makes a difference. I tried several different timing lengths and made sure I followed as closely along with your instructions. The arches paper was far better than the Canson. But I didn't get close to your results. Strange paint things happened. I'm going to buy some of the paints you recommend and see if I get different results. This was an EXCELLENT exercise to test out my supplies and I was seriously looking for this. Thanks so much 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖

Excellent exercise, thank you for sharing! I'm self taught and controlling pigment has been a real challenge. This has been very helpful in teaching me patience. Also, your use of color is amazing, you have a real gift!

I’m in Texas too and having problems with drying time. I have even put this pattern on 300# Arches block and I’m very hopeful that the water will be easier to control.
