This was so incredibly helpful - I've been struggling to find some different variations of songs for my beginner students and you just hit the nail on the head here! Thank you :)

I also love a thousand miles from vanessa carlton (G#3-B4) and fever from peggy lee, they are quite easy and versatile that we can easily adapt them to your own voice and style

I find 'Issues' by Hailey Reese to be quite easy but unfortunately I don't think there's a backing track for it.

Loved this explanation and can't wait to go get these lyrics and sing along with the original voices. My Mom sang opera, operettas, jazz, and in church across her 82 years on Earth. Somehow her alto voice doing Gounod's Ave Maria would vibrate the church pews . . . not kidding. We heard Die Fledermaus, Carmen, Nelson Eddie & Jeanette MacDonald, When Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, and Some Enchanted Evening all while doing homework or washing the dishes. Thanks for triggering these great memories and for giving me 5 songs for a beginner!!

I’ve recently started having singing lessons (4 months) I’m a perfectionist which my teacher keeps telling me isn’t good when it comes to singing 🙈 Do you have any tips to strengthen my head voice I don’t like hearing my head voice because I think it sounds weak, even though my singing teachers says I have a good range, I just want to be able to belt some ballads out comfortably. I love watching your videos I’ve learnt a lot from them. Thanks!! ❤️

I'm a guy and I sing two of them songs on the old karaoke a lot, in their original key- ('Make You Feel My Love' and 'Mamma Mia'). I also sing 'Da Doo Ron Ron' with me choir. I've never tried 'Love Song', but I've always wanted to have a whack at it. I've got five female songs what I absolutely love singing, and I sing all the time at karaoke nights: 'Show Me Heaven'- (Maria McKee), 'cos that one really gets me up into my Falsetto register, where I just love to be. 'Kiss Me'- (Sixpence None The Richer), 'Take My Breath Away'- (Berlin), 'Venus'- (Shocking Blue), and the most vocally challenging one of all- (for me, as a Falsettist anyway), 'I'll Be There'- (Jess Glynne)- all of which, I've covered on me You Tube channel at one time or another. I think it's actually really good for guys to sing "female" songs in their original key and in a female octave every now and again, 'cos it challenges us, it takes us well out of our Tenor, Baritone or Bass comfort-zone- (although, for the record, I'd say Falsetto IS my comfort-zone), and it helps us to expand our vocal-ranges, and explore an area of our voices that most of us, otherwise, would never really get to experiment with. It also gives us the opportunity to find out what it's like to sing in what's pretty much a female register. I've got plenty of examples of me doing just that on You Tube, to prove that I ain't just blagging it.
