I am guessing you can't just exchange a bond for the cash value seeing that only nations or corps. or orgs. or a super rich person can really buy huge bonds like that. I am sure they have to be validated before any money is paid out so why would you even both forging bonds of that type?!?! Knowing that bonds that big will be validated. Knowing how shady all governments are there might have been something fishy going on. I remember seeing this on the news for one day and never heard anything again. So it must have meant something to someone!

Well as far as I have known the problem was that the two Japanese that were caught with the "fake" gold bonds didn't know the "trick" or secret that laid below these bonds. They were made fake by the USA "on purpose" from the beginning, as a two-step verification because the legit owner should be able to explain the details of this forgery and the Japanese couldn't
