February 23, 1836 marked the beginning of the Mexican army's 13-day siege upon the Alamo mission in San Antonio, held by Texian supporters of independence. Jane Pauley reports.

A MEXICAN Victory of all time! It's nice to see Texas celebrate a Mexican victory every year! Travis would commit shoot himself in the head, when he saw all was lost. Bowie would be discovered hiding under his covers fearing for his fraud of a life, and would be killed in that way. And of course, as everyone knows by now, Crockett would surrender to the Mexican soldiery only to be executed moments later! Some heroes!
