A new group of older Australians joins a bunch of lively 4-year-olds in a purpose-built play school for fun, games, learning and friendship. #OldPeoplesHomeAU

Unlike last season, our new group of older people all live in their own homes, but we find that loneliness and isolation don’t just affect those living in aged care. Like the 1.6 million Australians over the age of 65 who live alone at home, our participants find themselves at the crossroads of wanting to live in their own homes but needing help to remain healthy and happy enough to stay there.

The goal for Old People’s Home For 4 Year Olds, Season 2, is to switch the experiment in the name of early intervention by taking aging adults into the kids’ domain, to reconnect them to their community to help them maintain their independence.

The new season starts Tuesday 6 April 8.30pm on ABC TV and iview.

You know I've always been connected to other people all my life. And to this day I still am. I'm crying here because I think this should be a TV show because I would watch this all day long. I just love that cute interaction between the kids and the older people the adopted grandparents I like to think instead of old people. I wish it was had its own YouTube channel

Bring it on - best show ever made!! I'll need to buy a few hundred boxes of tissues before April 6th though because even this promo makes me weep (mainly happy tears). Here's hoping this idea, with all its healing and hope, becomes a given with aged care planning asap.
