Equinoxe 7 Bass Part - How they did it back in 1978

This was how Jean Michel Jarre and Michel Geiss made the famous Equinoxe Bass.
Geiss' Matrisequencer played two sequencer patterns and Jean Michel changed the notes with the ARP 2600 keyboard.

This cover version is made with Propellerhead Reason 7 and the bass is played live on this clip.

Michel Geiss has confirmed to me this was how they did it.

Excellent ! Since 1976 I listen Jean Michel Jarre, when my parent came back from Iran and go back to Brittany. It's magic and wonderful music. What you do is amazing ! :)

Equinoxe was the album that made me want to write electronic music and I used to wonder about those little modulations in the basslines. Part 7 had then, and still does, to me, one of the best basslines and synth bass sounds ever.
