A visit to Jimi Hendrix' memorial site in Seattle. Jimi Hendrix is one the most influential & iconic guitarists in rock n' roll history. The innovative & unique way he combined blues and electric distortion helped pioneer what it means to be a hard rock guitarist. He's widely regarded by the likes of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck & others as one of the greatest to ever pick up a guitar. Though he was born in the States, Jimi Hendrix first broke in the UK, before breaking in the US with the Jimi Hendrix Experience's iconic performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. Two years later at Woodstock in 1969, he gave another of his most iconic performances, in particular his rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. He would pass away a year later on September 18th 1970, at the age of 27.
