That’s me starting uphill. Trick is don’t stop once you start climbing.

That was my problem. I forgot to release the brakes as I started to pedal. I'm going to make a list and tape it to the handle bars.

Great remedy! Placing the bike sideways makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

That's exactly how I remount on steep sections. Figured it out after a lot of hill climbs. It seems obvious why the wheel spins when trying to remount, but working backwards from there gets to these solutions. Need weight on tire to stop it from spinning and need to apply pedal force gently instead of standing up on the pedal with full body weight and mounting the bike all in one go. This leads to holding the bike stationary with brakes, putting partial weight on slightly lowered seat, gently applying pedal pressure and releasing brake pressure at the same time.

Start on low gear with the pedal on the lower position and the sear as low as possible. Tilt the bike to the side a bit, then go slow forward as you let go of the rear break 😊 always works for me .

Step one, hold the brakes
Step two full weight on both pedals .
Step 3 release brakes and ride away .
You need weight on your back wheel for traction

Honestly, if it’s steep at all, I’m just giving up. GIMME A LIFT!

Great advice, I hate slipping out on a steep climb and having to start in a weird spot but this definitely makes it easier

Lean back and balance torso to put more traction on back tire...
