People are forgetting that even prefab also needs to be build in a manufacturing facility. Which means you have to plan well in advanced. Your not saving time your planning well in advance and it not be cheaper because someone is building for you as opposed in site construction.

Disadvantages: multiple assembly sites, earth quake hazard, cost vs profit.
Its more of an environmental hazard to wipe multiple areas of land for your production plants, there isnt any material all the way through the building to its an earth quake hazard and it only makes sense to do this in an area that isn't easily excusable so they dont have to make multiple trips for materials coming in an trash scrap material coming out.

Nothing new here. This is something that was known since USSR... Its been called "pannel houses" then but the principle is the same.
