In this video Paul Andersen explains how the resources required for survival come from the Earth. The resources are not evenly distributed on the planet and neither are the humans. According to the NGSS we need to limit the use of nonrenewable resources (like oil and coal) through regulations and increase the use of renewable resources. A teaching progression K-12 is also included.

Sad that my school gave me this for work, basically suggesting restrictions to be set up creating authoritarian rule with restrictions

Hi Paul, Thanks for sharing your video. Our school is switching from Physical Science to Integrated Science for our incoming 9th graders. I'm helping to build the curriculum for the new class. I'm looking over NGSS and saw one of the skills students should learn involves computational modeling. [S = C * B * R * T where s is sustainability, c is a constant, B is biodiversity, and r is the natural recource, and t is a technology used to extract the resource.]. Do you have any good resources/labs/whiteboard discussions that help address this? Thanks!
