Introduction to SNMP MIBs

This video gives an introduction to Management Information Bases (MIBs). It starts with an example, after which it discusses the difference between MIB definition and instance, and the modular structure of MIBs. It concludes with a list showing some of the main IETF hardware MIBs, transmission MIBs, network MIBs, transport MIBs, application MIBs and vendor specific MIBs. It concludes with naming of MIB modules

Considering how long SNMP has been around its astonishing how many module definitions are still ‘proposed’ with a few making it to ‘draft’. No wonder it’s not considered particularly useful.
