This video is a little special: I've just launched the new Flink course for Scala developers, which has been requested for a long time. In this video I'll describe what this course does, who it is for, what it contains and what you can expect from it.

If you need to stream big data in real time with a high level of confidence and control, this course is for you. Flink is notoriously hard to learn by yourself because of the steep learning curve required to launch even the most basic applications. This course will walk you through a smooth learning curve, and at the end of the course, you'll become a productive Flink data engineer.

What's included in the course?

A lot, actually:
- 28+ deconstructed lessons
- 8h+ of HD video
- 2000+ lines of code
- dozens of practical examples and exercises
- full access to the code and supporting slides
- free updates, never expires
- exclusive access to the private Rock the JVM community

If this course is too difficult for you, I recommend starting with Scala first:

Check out the membership if you're looking for access to everything on Rock the JVM at an affordable monthly price:

I predicted three years ago on a Quora post that Flink was going to Spark some competition. :-)

I was hesitating on what to learn next for advancing in Data Engineering, Java or Scala? People say that Java is well-spread and easier to learn, while Scala has a steeper learning curve and a developing community. But after googling around I'm kind of leaning towards Scala, accidentally found this announcement in my recommendations, hmm, is it a coincidence ?)
By the way, what do you think about these two languages, could you share your forecasts for the future?

Are you planning to bring this in Udemy? Also, are the course could be followed by a Java developer?
